This week, I decided to use either writing dice (words) or story dice (pictures). Using story dice or writing dice is a fun and refreshing way to create a story!
Since many people may not be familiar with the concept of story dice, I will make a sentence for each prompt and then choose one of the sentences to make a story with for Fiction Friday! Please also refer to my post on using story dice or writing dice as a writing tool on Tryout Tuesday!
In addition to my website, you can find all my daily writing prompts on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook!

My Dice Rolls
Below, I will include my dice rolls and sentences for each prompt. Please note that the headers suggest which genre to write, but since I am partial to fantasy, my prompts may reflect more of a fantastical setting. 🙂
General (4, 4, 1): bookstore, watch, cozy – I watched the librarian shelve the latest book of my favorite series, and I couldn’t help but be impressed with the cozy new bookstore.
Fantasy (2, 5, 4): dragon, cast (spell), large (huge) – Dean cast his last spell at the dragon, horrified to realize that instead of shrinking the dragon down to a tadpole-sized threat, he had blown up the dragon to an enormous size, making it a huge problem.
Romance (2, 5, 6): bouquet, wait, spontaneous – Ansen waited outside of Jill’s house with a bouquet, hoping that she would love his spontaneous show of affection.
Animal POV (5, 4, 1): bone, eat, happy – Samson was very happy to eat the bone his owner threw in the garbage; he wasn’t sure why they kept throwing away the tasty bits.
Thriller (1, 1, 3): conspiracy, betray, relentless – Harold thought it was a conspiracy to believe that Evan would betray him, but now that he was running away from his killers at a relentless pace, he had no choice but to accept the fact that Evan was no longer on his side.
Mystery (4, 6, 5): letter, push, silent – During the quiet night, Shannon pulled the letter out and pushed away her racing thoughts as she read through the damning new evidence.
Science Fiction (2, 5, 1): island, decode, lucky – I figured I would have to be lucky to decode the lock at the entrance gate of Gambolt Island, but it turns out that the password was just 1-2-3-4.
I hope you all enjoyed my rolls! My favorite choice will be turned into a flash fiction on Fiction Friday.
Happy dice rolling!
